Meetings and Events 2026
Tuesday 7th April 2026 – An Open Meeting was held at Wall Village Hall. Sue & Ian Robinson gave a brief presentation on ‘Swarm Control and Prevention‘. This was followed by practical demonstrations of three commonly used techniques/manipulations by Sue, Ian and Judith Stewart – Queen Removal, Queen not Found and Demarree. Forty members attended.
Sunday 29 March 2026 – A Frame Making Session was held in Wall Village Hall. This was aimed at beginners to learn how to make frames and provide the Association with a stock of frames for the forthcoming season. Nineteen beginners attended.
Sunday 22nd March 2026 – A Theory for Beginners class was held at Wall Village Hall. Twenty-one new beekeepers attended in preparation for this year’s practical sessions at the Teaching Apiary which commence on 14 June 2026.
Tuesday 3rd March 2026 – An Open Meeting was held at Wall Village Hall which 24 members attended. Martyn Farrer gave a presentation entitled ‘The Why and How of Honey Bee Feeding‘ which was followed by a lively Q&A session.
Tuesday 3rd February 2026 – An Open Meeting was held at Wall Village Hall at which twenty five members attended. Judith Stewart presented on ‘Preparing for the Season‘ which prompted several questions and a useful discussion. This was followed by a ‘Bring and Share’ supper providing a welcome opportunity to catch up and discuss plans for the forthcoming season. Several members contributed items to a Sale of Equipment (with 10% of proceeds going to HBKA).
Tuesday 6th January 2026 – The Annual General Meeting was held via Zoom (due to the adverse weather conditions). Twenty-seven members attended and a copy of the draft minutes is available here.
